How the calculation works
Uses the existing US most-categories, no-Store fee schedule. Sales tax is included in the final value fee base but excluded from revenue. The optional user-entered ad percentage defaults to zero and is applied to the same total sale amount as the final value fee. This is a simplifying assumption: check the actual ad charging basis and eligibility in Seller Hub.
Seller revenue = price + buyer shipping. Ad estimate = (price + shipping + tax) × entered ad rate. Profit = revenue − eBay fees − ad estimate − item cost − actual shipping − other costs. Margin = profit ÷ revenue; ROI = profit ÷ entered costs.
Estimates exclude unlisted charges. Reverse prices round up to the smallest currency unit that meets your target.

Frequently asked questions
How is profit different from payout?
Net payout subtracts eBay fees and the estimated ad fee. Profit also subtracts item cost, your actual label or shipping cost, and packaging or other costs.
What do margin and ROI mean here?
Margin divides profit by seller revenue (item price plus buyer-paid shipping, excluding tax). ROI divides profit by item, shipping and other costs. A zero denominator displays a dash.
Is the ad percentage an official default?
No. Enter the applicable campaign rate yourself and verify the fee basis in Seller Hub. No advertising fee is assumed until you enter a rate.
Can I price for a target profit?
Yes. Reverse mode defaults to profit and finds the lowest cent price covering the entered costs, fees and ad estimate.
